A curious chain murder

Background:  In "Chain Murder", the audience provides an occupation, a location, and an unusual murder weapon.  Using only gibberish, the first person must pass this information to a second person, who must then pass it to the third.  After the third passes it along to the fourth, the audience finds out if s/he got all the facts accurately.

At a recent show, we played “Chain Murder”.  In this case, the clue-giver had to convince the next person that s/he was a CONSTRUCTION WORKER, that s/he was in a DISCO, and get them to murder someone with a TOOTHPICK.

I successfully passed these on to Milo and he looked ready to go with Rita.  He got her to realize that they were construction workers, but he completely blanked on what location he had received!  The audience could see that he had no clue what to do.  After a bit of fumbling while Rita babbled on in gibberish, Milo gave up the ghost and went on to the deliver the toothpick, leaving her with no way to know the location.

Rita now must pass all of this info along to Lee.  She succeeds in getting them to be construction workers, whereupon Rita does a perfect impression of someone in a disco – completely baffling both the audience and the cast!  Lee correctly identifies all three objects, but the audience is now CONVINCED that this is a set up since Milo had not given her any clue at all!

After the show, we rushed her for an explanation.

She told us that all that Milo’s jumping around on the jackhammer looked like a weird dance, so she thought Milo had moved on to the location and he was dancing in a disco!
